1. What contributes to poor indoor air quality?

Bad quality of air ventilation in most household is the major reason we need an air filtration to improve the quality of indoor air. The unhealthy house design and setting may cause bad heat loss system and poor air ventilation in house especially for kitchen, living room and bed room.

2. What are the primary sources of air pollution?

EPA has reported the link between second-hand smoke and negative health effects especially for respiratory system problems. Furthermore, pollen comes from plants and flowers are the major sources of air pollution for those people who suffered from asthma, bronchitis and allergic. People who are allergic to cats and dogs are actually allergic to the dander flakes their pets shed. Dander can remain in a home long after the presence of the host animal. Mold and mildew, formed in the shower room, kitchen or basement, are plant spores that grow in any place that's warm and humid. Dust is a collection of many different types of particles including our own skin cells, dirt tracked in from outside and other particles from objects in the house.

3. Why is air purifiers needed?

According to The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the indoor air often is many times more polluted than outside air. Here are some facts about indoor air which may interfere with our body health:

4. What is HEPA?

HEPA is short form for High Efficiency Particulate Air filter. It was a technology developed in the 1940's by the U.S. Atomic Energy Commission to remove radioactive particulate contaminants from polluted environment. HEPA is a type of highly efficient filtration media that can removes microscopic particles from air passing through the filter. The most efficient form of HEPA able to remove 99.97% of particles with a size of 0.3 microns that passes through the filter. Therefore, it can be ensured that fresh and clean air supply can be provided for health purpose with HEPA Air Filter System.

5. What does 99.97% HEPA mean?

This stands for the efficiency or ability of HEPA filter to remove particle substances from an air stream. In other word, for every 10,000 particles entering the filter through the air flow, an average of 3 would pass all the way through the filter.

6. Should I choose the Germ Free Ionic HEPA Air System (HEPA)?

If you are struggling with airborne particulate, such as pollen, dust, pet dander, or smoke, choose the HEPA system. Furthermore, HEPA air system is effective to clean up mold, mildew, organic odors, or chemical vapors (such as formaldehyde).

11. Where should I locate my Germ Free Ionic HEPA Air System?

Many pollutants, such as smoke, are lighter than air, and therefore, rise. For best performance, locate your unit as high as possible, usually 4-5 feet above the floor. You may wish to locate your unit where odors are particularly offensive or strong, such as a smoking room, kitchen, or near a litter box. Multiple units may be used for larger areas with excellent results.

12. Can the Germ Free Ionic HEPA Air System run all the time - will that protect me?

Yes, Germ Free Ionic HEPA Air System can run on a continuous basis. We recommend that the air cleaner be set up in the house such as living room, bedroom, reading room or even kitchen to ensure better air ventilation and improves the quality of indoor air system for our health. This is because we spend at least 12-15 hours in our home!

Yes. The unit is portable and ideal for travel. Its compact size is easy to pack and set up in motel rooms, vacation homes, and house.

14. Can I clean my HEPA filter?

We do not recommend vacuuming or washing the HEPA filter. This will damage the filter material.

15. Is there any maintenance required?

Only minor maintenance to ensure your Germ Free Ionic HEPA Air System to optimize the function in air filtration in household. We have recommended that the activated carbon filter (every three months) , HEPA air filter (every two years) and UV light (every replacement after 3000-5000 hours light used) to ensure optimum function of air purification.

16. What size of room will the Germ Free Ionic HEPA Air System protect?

The room size is determined by the clean air delivery rate (CADR). Based on our experience, we recommend a Germ Free Ionic HEPA Air System with a room size that is equal to about 15-20m² such as living room, master bedroom etc.

17. Will any captured particles be released from the HEPA filter back into the air?

Under normal conditions no. However, if the filter is shaken or disturbed it is possible.

18. Is the most expensive air cleaner the best?

It's not necessarily. For safety and effective purpose, please make sure that the air cleaner is a HEPA air purifier.
